Daniel Kellingray
“I’ve joined the University of St Andrews to lead the recruitment service and build a capability that will enable us to attract and acquire the best talent in the industry to deliver the ongoing and future success for the University.
“My role will be specifically looking at areas where we can improve the current service from both the perspective of colleagues looking to hire as well as people applying or seeking to join the University.
“My ambition is to see that St Andrews is established as the ‘go to’ employer of choice across all areas of the higher education sector and be able to increasingly attract a diverse range of talent from other industries as well.
“I am working at Walter Bower House at Eden Campus with the HR team. My colleagues and people who I’ve met across the University have all made me feel incredibly welcome. The cakes at Tindal’s Café deserve an honourable mention as well!
“I’ve recently moved to St Andrews with my young family who are very happy to be so close to the town and lovely beaches. Outside of work I’m an avid footballer and currently looking to gain my coaching badges. My friends and family are also very invested in me improving my golf game given where I have relocated to!
“As we move through semester and latter stages of the year, we are looking at a number of areas to strengthen our recruitment and selection processes. This includes also developing a recruitment strategy that will support the future needs of the University, and making sure that we elevate our employer brand that will include updated job descriptions and better use of digital communication platforms.”
Our new feature Saints in the Spotlight shines a light on our staff, highlighting the variety of talented people that make up our St Andrews community and the work they do.
We promote our Saints in the Spotlight through our staff news webpage and on LinkedIn.
We are looking for colleagues to share their story. Perhaps you have been part of a project you’re proud of and want to tell people about it, or you want your colleagues to know about the work your team does
